The proposed doctrine of consumer laws was introduced and gradually developed in the early 1960s. Several decades later, the proposed approach is still relevant under 4 principles as follows :

1- Your right to be informed

2- Your right to safety

3- Your right to choose

4- Your right to be heard

in 1985 the United Nations General Assembly endorsed 4 more consumer rights as follows :

5- Your right to redress

6- Your right to service

7- Your right to environmental health

8- Your right to consumer education

Those 8 principles remain the most widely recognized in any respective business.
